Established in 2012 by Andrea Bodnari, Tech Solutions for Visual Independence LLC (TSVI) is an Assistive Technology Company specializing in affordable, mainstream, and freeware/shareware technology solutions for the Visually Impaired & Blind. In 2016, Andrea was joined by Derek Wilson as a venture partner, adding expertise in the areas of strategy, project management, partnership and business development. As Certified BlindSquare Solutions Consultants, TSVI provides professional development, training, and support to Orientation & Mobility Specialist on the use of BlindSquare as an instructional tool to reinforce O&M concepts. TSVI supports Companies & Organizations providing customized BlindSquare GPS, QR’s, and Beacon technologies for indoor and outdoor navigation. TSVI provides design, installation, training, support and management services for all BlindSquare Systems. Although TSVI specializes in services for the visually impaired in blind, we also support accessible navigation for individuals with cognitive impairments, and provide print alternatives for print disabled and non-english speaking individuals.
The BlindSquare app provides real-time digital signage for safe and independent travel both indoors and outdoors, Improving mobility and quality of life for people living with vision loss. Digitally mapping outdoor digital breadcrumbs along with indoor floor plans and functional services increase productivity and consumer activity for a more inclusive society.
BlindSquare has several solutions we utilize to create accessible environments. All of the BlindSquare Solutions work together or independently of each other based upon the design.
BlindSquare Navigational Solutions include:
• BlindSquare Event
• Beacon Positioning Service (BPS)
• Custom Location Service (CLS)
• BlindSquare QR Service (QRS)
BlindSquare Event is available Free of charge to Organizations that would like to give blind and visually impaired attendees an additional tool to make orientation at the location easier. BlindSquare Event can be provided on a temporary basis for demonstration purposes or as part of a permanent BPS installation.
Utilizing a Bluetooth signal, BPS allows organizations to deliver customized information about their indoor facilities to blind and visually impaired guests, clients, students, and staff running BlindSquare on a mobile device. BPS is appropriate for indoor travel as GPS is not required.
Utilizing a GPS signal, CLS allows organizations to deliver customized information about their premises to blind and visually impaired guests, clients, students, and staff running BlindSquare on a mobile device. CLS is appropriate for outdoor travel as GPS is required.
QRS can be used to provide the user with additional information, such as the layout or orientation of a room or the description of a picture, monument, or statue. QRS are designed to be easily targeted within a six-foot radius of the user as a means of revealing additional information without auditorily overwhelming the user.

TSVI provides BlindSquare instructor and installer training. Our field-tested programs are customized to client needs with flexible delivery options and affordable pricing.
TSVI offers instructors a unique opportunity to engage in experiential learning and professional development using tools and materials available exclusively through the BlindSquare Academy. TSVI offers cohort-based online training as well as half-day or full-day onsite training and conference workshops. All TSVI BlindSquare Academy courses and workshops include access to our virtual classroom and live, hands-on training from a certified BlindSquare instructor.
